UC DLFx 2018 has ended

The inaugural 2018 University of California Digital Library Forum (UC DLFx) "Building the UC Digital Library: Theory and Practice" will explore a range of topics such as engaging, enhancing our communities and creating data from materials at our respective University of California libraries; demystifying data curation; project collaboration; using emerging technologies such as 3D scanning to enhance access, and creating a UC system wide standard for born digital archival material.

Rachel Taketa is the Library Specialist for the Industry Documents Digital Library (IDDL) at the University of California, San Francisco, Library and Center for Knowledge Management. The IDDL contains more than 14 million documents created by major pharmaceutical and tobacco companies related to their advertising, manufacturing, marketing, sales, and scientific research activities. As Library Specialist, Rachel assists researchers through search workshops and webinars, provides reference services, acquires and describes new documents, and heads web archiving projects for the unit. Rachel holds an MLIS from California State University, San Jose. She is also a member of the Society of California Archivists and has worked with UCSF since 1994.
